PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
I have completed PhD on Novel Anticancer Drug Development from Sydney Medical School, The University of Sydney, Australia. I have published 30 articles in peer reviewed international/national journals having high impact factors. One of my articles has been published in ‘Coordination Chemistry Reviews’ journal bearing impact factor 20.6. As per ‘Google Scholar Citations’ one of my review articles (published from Jahangirnagar University as first author) has been cited by more than 2033 other articles throughout the world until August, 2023. I have presented 10 oral/poster presentations around the globe including USA, Germany, Australia, South Korea. I have been awarded as best poster presenter in Drug Discovery and Therapy World Congress 2017, Boston, USA. I was selected for ‘Young Investigator Award’ for my oral presentation regarding the activity of my novel drugs in 6th International conference ICoFF-2015, South Korea. My discovery was also appreciated in 28th EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium, Germany (2016) and in Sydney Cancer Conference -2016.
During second year of my B. Pharm (Hons) in undergraduate program at Jahangirnagar University, one honourable professor was classifying students according to their research interest. I was the only one in group of Medicinal Chemistry due to fewer prospects of synthesizing novel drug in Bangladesh. Not only in the universities but also our pharmaceutical companies show limited interest in developing novel drug due to scarcity of facility and idea. My reverie came into certainty in my PhD study and I have synthesized six novel drugs with confirmed crystal structures and great potential for development as anticancer drugs.
My vision is to serve the entire humanity by providing novel anticancer therapy. Synthesis of newer compounds having potential to be anticancer drugs is also going on at our Department of Pharmacy, Jahangirnagar University. Currently, we are sending samples to The University of Sydney, Australia for cytotoxicity study in human cell lines via collaboration. We have plan to set up cell culture laboratory at our department in future depending on the availability of funding.
